Christmas in Seattle

We had a wonderful Christmas in Seattle with all the Oswald family.

We went to a parade outside of the mall. Lots of fun.

Christmas morning with Great Grandpa....

Nana got silly hats for the family.

My Mom gave Grandpa a special book with tons of newspaper clippings about his life and his father's life.

This is the first year the boys have fully understood what was going to happen on Christmas. They were very excited to open presents.

Aunt Jenna found a cute little trailer park flea market for us to visit. It had fun vintage stuff.

Each trailer had a store inside.

We got to do our favorite thing....go to Pike's Place Market down town. We have a picture in front of this sign when we were just dating. My how our family has grown.

Our Christmas Party

Meredith, Audrey, and Matty came to visit last weekend. What fun to have our precious friends here. It felt so normal, like they should live here too.

We got to have our annual Christmas party. Every year we make gingerbread houses together and exchange gifts. We have done this since Jack was a baby. So fun to get to do it this year even though we live miles apart.

Sam adores Matty. It is so cute. They play together and copy each other's moves.

We love basketball!

I made 6 baskets!! Yeay!

Sam tries so hard. He is just a little bit short and it is hard to get the ball all the way up to the hoop, but he made a basket today!!! He came home from the game and practiced by himself for about an hour on our goal. Sweet boy.

We had the priviledge of speaking to Pepperdine students and got to see our wonderful family on the trip. We had the best time with the newlyweds.

Sammy is in a funny phase right now. He loves to dress up. He and Jack have a basket of boy dress up clothes and they come out in them one by one.
If he is not dressed up, he prefers NO clothes! Love that guy...

Samuel Warren turned 3 last week! What a sweet boy he is.

Our Colorado Life

Well, this blog update is well overdue. I envy all my sweet friends that blog so well. I spent an hour trying to change the way it looks and then another half an hour trying to get these pictures in the right order. I still didn't do it. Oh well, I will keep trying.

We are so enjoying Colorado Springs! We miss all our friends and family terribly, but what a great place to live. I have always lived in a small town and it is so nice to have shopping, a view of the mountains, a McDonalds with a playplace, YMCA to work out, all right near our house.

Tonight we walked one of the trails near our house. It is fun to explore.

Our old house in Arkansas...what a cutie! This picture makes me miss it. Jack is looking at it while I am typing and said, "Is that our old house? I miss it." The boys ask about Arkansas all the time and say things like, "I want to go to Arkansas and tell my friends.... or show my friends..."

Snow Day

We had the best day in the snow today...

The weather was nice and sunny and the ground was covered with 5 inches of powder.

Jack made his first snowman,

and he was very proud!

We started out sliding down the slide,

and ended up driving to a nearby hill to sled.

Jack wanted to run and jump on the sled and slide down the hill all by himself, like he saw his Daddy doing.

We had such a ball! Sam was squealing and had his hands and feet shaking with excitetment.

Jack loves his little brother.

Jack dumped out all the snacks so that Sam would have enough to eat. Isn't he so thoughtful?

And Sam sure does love to eat. It is one of his favorite things about the day.

Jack and Sam love to be together. The more mobile Sam gets, the more fun they have...

After not writing for about a year, I am back. I took a year off in between each child, so I guess I am ready to write again. We have a lot to catch up on. Our boys are getting bigger, cuter, more curious, more loving, smarter, more fun to play with (most days), and growing just the way God created them to be...

Our California Trip

Last summer we went to California to see my cousin Charles get married. We had a wonderful time with the family.

We got to meet Ethan, my cousin's son. He and Jack had a great time together.

I had an amazing time with my family. It is always too long in between when we see each other.

My aunt and uncle own a tanning salon. It was funny to see our name on signs in the town.

Jack still loves to look out the front window at the cars going by. If you look farther back at our earlier entries, there is a picture of him sitting in front of this window watching the cars when he first learned to sit up. He can say "car", "truck", "bus", and "choo choo". For a while he was calling everything a "tractor". Sooo, cute....

We finally got a new computer. It was a struggle up until now to get pictures on the computer. It took hours to do and then more hours to put them on the blog. But this is much easier. Our last entry had us feeding Jack when he was a few months old. Now he is 18 months and we have another addition to our family, Sam is 4 months old. Hopefully we will be able to keep you more up to date with all our adventures.

Jack has a fascination with our shoes right now.

He loves to put them on. He wants to walk in them around the house and he gets so frustrated. He usually ends up falling and throwing them out of a fit of anger. It is hard to express your emotions when you are 1.

We love to dress them alike.

Sweet Sam. He is such a wonderful baby.

His hands are always in his mouth. He absolutely loves to suck his thumb. He is starting to enjoy playing with toys. He grabs for anything that is near him. Tonight he grabbed the taco I was eating.

They love to go on walks together. Jack usually sits with his arm on Sam and pats him the whole way.

We got a baby for Jack when he came to the hospital to visit Sam. Here he is taking such good care of his baby. Proud daddy. :)

Ice Storm

A large ice storm hit Arkansas as well as a large portion of the middle of the country. Here is Jack looking out of his room at all the ice.

We had large limbs down everywhere in our yard.

Sam wasn't so sure about being out in the cold.

Neither was Jack. We went outside thinking we were going to play in the snow like Jackson and I like to play. We were reminded again that our children never seem to play the way we think they should.

We thought Jack would like to get pulled on the sled, but we were wrong. His buddy Abe, next door, rode and rode on the sled. Jack just walked around. He wanted to play on the swing set that was covered with ice and fallen limbs. Oh well, better playing next time.

Look what happens when Daddy feeds me. To his credit, my arms and legs are always swinging, so it is not very easy to keep me clean.

I always wake up with crazy hair.

This is my new favorite spot. I love to be outside, but if I can't, then I like to sit and watch. I watch , the leaves, birds, and cars go by.

My First Haircut

My Nana gave me my first hair cut at my Uncle Peter's house in Malibu. Daddy thought I looked like Donald Trump with my long comb over.

I held still the best I could, but it was still a little difficult to cut it.

We went to a beach in Malibu and I loved the water. I got so excited, my legs and arms were kicking and moving like crazy.

I have been a little bit absent from this blog. I just saw that my last post was in January. Well, since then, we have been in a whirl wind. We found out that we are going to have baby #2 in the middle of October. After taking a few days to get over the shock, we are thrilled. We cannot wait to welcome this new little one into our family.

I think the Lord knew we could not entertain Jack by ourselves for the next few years. He is such a social butterfly. He is going to be so excited to have a sibling to talk to.

So...now that I am feeling a little better I am here writing again, but my posts may not be terribly often. Jack is only sleeping for about 30 minutes at a time during the day, which leaves little time to do anything. When he is awake he loves to be played with and held. He is in love with his Mama right now. The only thing he says all day is "Mama, Mama, Mama". I think he is entering an attached phase.

We had fun at the basketball game, but the buzzer was just a little bit too loud for me. Everyone that walked by me stopped and smiled at me.

It was my Great Grandma Dunn's 93rd birthday. So, we took her to the game to celebrate.

My tongue is the new part of my body I have discovered. It is fun to chew on, stick out, and blow bubbles with.
